Meerut: Sudhir Mahajan, the Director of cricket bat manufacturing firm BDM, has been kidnapped from Meerut.

Mahajan was targeted by armed assailants while he was returning home from his factory in his Honda City car at around 10.30pm. The car driver has also been abducted when the car was stopped at Ganganagar police post.

The abductors sent an SMS to his son Siddharth and later on called him as well. They said that the family will have to face dire consequences if they did not receive the desired ransom.

The car of 55-year-old Mahajan has been found abandoned in the morning.

Police have begun their search operation.
