New Delhi: Women and Child Welfare Minister Krishna Tirath said today that the rape victim's parents want all the accused to be hanged till death.
Tirath met the girl’s family members at Safdarjung Hospital and hoped that the victim recuperates soon as she still continues to be in critical condition.
“I just saw the girl she is under special treatment. My ministry will make sure that they are being punished. Right now her intestine’s operation has taken place. She met her father and cried. I am very sad that something of these sorts has happened with women,” Tirath said.
Meanwhile, three of the six men accused of raping the 23-year-old girl in a moving bus on Sunday night confessed to their crimes today at Saket court.
The accused Pawan Gupta, Vinay Sharma and Mukesh, the brother of main accused Ram Singh, were produced in the court.
“I am guilty. I should be hanged," said Pawan Gupta, a fruit seller.
Pawan and Vinay have refused to carry out their identification test. Pawan told the court that he didn’t want to get his identification done because he is guilty of being involved in such a terrible crime.
The court remanded Pawan and Vinay to four-day police custody while Mukesh has been sent to Tihar jail for 14 days in judicial custody.
Meanwhile, one more person allegedly involved in the rape of the girl has been detained from Bihar’s Aurangabad city.
Akshay Thakur is being brought to Delhi.
The 23-year-old para-medical student was raped and brutally assaulted by four men who also attacked her male friend and threw both of them out of the vehicle.
