BJP's Rajya Sabha member Ram JethmalaniNew Delhi: BJP's Rajya Sabha member Ram Jethmalani came under attack from his party leaders as well as from the Congress after his controversial statement that Lord Ram was a "bad husband".

Jethmalani on Thursday called Lord Ram a bad husband. He made these remarks during a book launch, which would likely cause more embarrassment to the saffron party.

Talking to the audience, Jethmalani said that Ram was a bad husband as he sent his wife Sita to exile for no definite reason.

"If you are prepared for the unconditional eternal slavery while you live, as Sita claimed from Ram. Ram was a very bad husband incidentally. I don't like him at all. Just because some fisherman said something, he sent that poor woman (Sita) into a vanvaas (exile). Bad," Jethmalani said.

Several users reacted over Ram Jethmalani's statement on our official facebook page. Some of the reactions are:

Aashish Sachdeva says "If he (Jethmalani) doesn't like Ram then he should change his name."

Piyush Pandey says "What is wrong into this. I know he is not correct but everyone has a right to express his views."

Kumar Kapil Agarwal says "Kaliyug has only Ravans. We don't have Ram. Now, if Ravan doesn't like Ram then there is no surprise into this."

Arshi Naaz says "Jethmalani is right. Don't take it so seriously dear. Lord Ram is idol for many people but he was not an ideal husband."

Himanshu Bhatt says "It is true that Ram was a God but at the same time it is also true that he was not a good husband."

Dr Pooja Bhatnagar says "Jethmalani never said Ram was a bad Lord or man, rather he had said that he was a bad husband. Luv Kush had also criticized their father Ram on this point of exile of Sita."
