Mumbai: A woman of 22 sustained burns after a man threw acid on her at the Goregaon railway station on Tuesday. The victim, a resident of Nalasopara and employed at a firm in Goregaon, was admitted to a private hospital, the GRP said. The incident took place at 7.45 pm outside the ticket booking office near platform 1. "She was headed home. She had reached the CVM to punch tickets for her journey when a stranger walked towards her and threw acid at her. He fled before passersby could nab him," said a police officer.
